Guilford has a variety of services specifically designed to help elders in the community. A good first source of referrals is Tammy DeFrancesco, Social Services Director for the Town Social Services Department. Guilford GateKeepers Referral Center is a community agency designed to identify and help elderly residents in need of medical, social or mental health services. GateKeepers can be reached during normal business hours from 8 am to 5 pm. Situations that cannot wait until the next working day should be considered an emergency -- call 911.

The Guilford Senior Citizens offers transportation, activities and a hot meal at the center at 32 Church Street. For information, call Virginia Czaplicki at (203) 453-9086.

The CHOICES program at The Guilford Senior Citizens helps seniors cope with Medicare and health care costs and information and referral for community support services. The HOTLINE number for CHOICES is (800) 994-9422.
