Universities and Colleges

One of our nation's oldest Universities was founded in the early 1700s with a generous gift from Elihu Yale of nine bales of goods, 417 books, and a portrait and arms of King George I.

Today eight schools for advanced education are within a convenient drive of the Guilford Green. They include:

Albertus Magnus College (New Haven)
Connecticut College (New London)
Gateway Community College (New Haven)
Paier College of Art (Hamden)
Quinnipiac University (Hamden)
Southern Connecticut State University (New Haven)
University of New Haven (West Haven)
Wesleyan University (Middletown)
Yale University (New Haven)

Many of these schools have part-time and commuter programs in both liberal arts and technical specialties.
