The Citizen Police Academy 2010

The Guilford Police Department will hold an eight week Citizen Academy course.
March 18, 2010- May 21 2010       The class is open to all Guilford residents 16 years of age and older and limited to thirty (30) people. During these eight weeks, officers from the Department will instruct the citizens in the following areas:


Ride-a-long
  • Program Introduction & Tour of Facility
  • Introduction to Criminal Justice
  • Patrol Procedues & D.W.I.
  • General investigative Techniques
  • Drugs, Alcohol & D.A.R.E.
  • Crime scene, Fingerprinting & Crime Prevention
  • Guest Speaker - To be announced
  • Computers in Policing & Motor Vehicle Law
After graduation, the Citizens will participate in a "Ride-a-Long" program.

The 2010 schedule has been set. The Citizens Academy will begin March 18 running through May 21, 2010 on Thursday nights.
The application deadline is March 3, 2010
