Both Charged with: Robbery in the First Degree, Larceny in the Second Degree, and Conspiracy
to Commit Robbery and Larcecny
The Guilford Police responded to a robbery at the Connex Credit Union at 832 Boston Post Rd.
Officer Denison located a witness to the robbery who saw a person running from the Credit
Union and get into a gray vehicle. The witness wrote down the maker plate number which lead
Guilford Police to the home of Richard Worthington where he was taken into custody with the
assistance of the Branford Police Department. Subsequent investigation allowed the Guilford
Police to obtain a search warrant for the vehicle and the house in which the cash and other
evidence was recovered. On July 20, 2005 Michael Wothington, the brother of Richard, was
interviewed and later that day was arrest as the driver of the get-away car.
Further investigation has linked Richard and Michael Worthington to possibly two other bank
robberies in the New Haven County area. Those comminutes are continuing their investigations.
