Guilford is blessed with many historical houses and museums. Within walking distance of the Town's Green, one may find many 17th through 19th century houses and churches, and three museums. The Town's picturesque marina is a plesant half-mile walk. Fine restaurants can be found in the Marina area and around the Town Green.

Christ Episcopal Church
Christ Episcopal Church was founded in 1744 as a missionary outpost of the Church of England. The existing church was dedicated in 1838. |

Civil War Memorial Monument
The centerpiece of Guilford's Town Green this monument commemorates four major battles in which Guilford residents gave their lives. |

First Church of Christ Scientist
Our church is located at 49 Park Street on the historic Guilford Green. We are a branch church of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston Massachusetts. |

First Congregational Church
One of the earliest congregations in America, First Church was gathered in 1643. Except for the steeple which toppled during the 1938 hurricane and had to be rebuilt, the church remains basically the same as when it was first built in 1830. |

Opened in 1979, this is an outstanding reference collection of historical and genealogical materials on Guilford and surrounding towns. |

Henry Whitfield State Museum
Constructed in 1639, this is Connecticuts oldest house and New Englands oldest stone house. Visitor information center nearby features historical exhibits. |

Hyland House
Built circa 1690-1710, The Hyland House is a red saltbox home featuring five hearths, original moldings and woodwork and a fine collection of furniture and decorative arts. |

Medad Stone Tavern
Built as a 14-room tavern in 1803 it was never opened as a tavern but remained as a private residence. Now open as a museum. |

The Dudley Farm
A late 19th Century Farm Museum built in 1844. The Farm sits on 10 picturesque acres farmed by the Dudley family for almost 300 years. Farm market on Saturday mornings, June to October. |

Thomas Griswold House
The Thomas Griswold House is a classic New England saltbox dwelling standing on a commanding knoll along a picturesque stretch of the old Post Road. |

Anne Conover Nature Education Trail
One of Guilford's fine bird watching locations along the East River salt marsh meadow. The one-mile trail is an easy walk and studded with educational display markers. |

Designated a scenic route, this state road has a North to South passage and provides beautiful views for drivers and bikers. |

WestWoods and Timberlands Trails
The WestWoods and Timberlands trail systems are large recreational areas for hiking in Guilford. Westwoods, located in South Guilford, contains 39 miles of trails on 1,200 acres. Timberlands is a bit smaller 600 acres and is located in North Guilford. |
